  I would be interested in discussing this especially in the context of CLIR's articles on cyberinstructure (see http://scilib.typepad.com/science_library_pad/2007/10/clir-cyberinfra.html), the NSF report, Cyberinfrastructure Vision for 21st Century Discovery, and ACLS's Our Cultural Commonwealth.

  Mike Roy's piece in a recent Educause offers a useful sketch of the path colleges might take. It's hard to scale to colleges much of what CI proposes, but grad students who will become our profs are attending schools that will be part of the CI and presumably will want to pursue work in this mode.
